This is one of those quick filler posts because I just got home and am sleepy and am about to go to bed. But. Even though it’s a filler it’s still interesting. Well I think it is anyway. I was out for dinner tonight with my friends, I’ll post some photos I took of it tomorrow for you. It was pretty funny because one of my friends just kept telling us about these cool random facts. I now see him as a human version of wikipedia. Go Jye!
I was telling everyone about the new app I downloaded; 5K runner and how I love it and how it’s totally awesome and how I’m thinking of doing the 10K one after I finish. That’s me being a bit ambitious. Any way, then we started talking about marathons and Jye blurts out this fact: (I’ve copied it from Wikipedia, it’s pretty much word for word what my friend Jye said, it’s just quicker for me to copy and paste, rather than typing it from memory 😛 )
“The marathon is a long-distance running event with an official distance of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles and 385 yards), that is usually run as a road race. The event was instituted in commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon to Athens.”
Interesting right? Yep, exactly. If you haven’t heard of 5K runner theres a mini free download, you should check it out.
