Pattern making class today.

We learnt dart manipulation. In case you think I’m talking about the darts that you throw let me explain that in pattern making, darts are a tapered tuck which is stitched into a garment to create shaping.

It is actually quite fun playing around with darts and dart positioning. The one above is for an asymmetrical design. And what you can see above is an intermediate pattern. The final pattern comes after the intermediate and is used to lay over the fabric so you can cut it out ready to sew.
