Way Of The Reaper by Nicholas Irving with Gary Brozek
WAY OF THE REAPER - MY GREATEST UNTOLD MISSIONS AND THE ART OF BEING A SNIPER
by Nicholas Irving with Gary Brozek
282 pages, Pan Macmillan
The Weinstein Company is working on creating a six-hour mini-series called The Reaper. It will be based on Nicholas Irving's autobiography of the same name and is produced by my favourite rapper, Jay Z.
Reaper is a nickname Irving earned working as a sniper for the U.S. Military serving in the Army's Special Operations 3rd Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. Irving was also the first African American to serve as a sniper in his battalion.
His new book 'Way of The Reaper' focuses more on what it takes to be a sniper. It's Irving's story of how he worked his way up to the position, the weapons he's used, the calculations involved, the dangers, his most significant mission and more.
You get a glimpse of what it was like for Irving and his time in the U.S. Army in Iraq and Afghanistan and also what life is like once he returned home.
It was quite insightful learning about the war through Irving's story, and I'm really glad that I read it and am looking forward to watching the mini-series.
